GTA 6 Lets You Escape Without Killing Police or Civilians
Jason and Lucia are criminals who would rather get away than leave bodies, and GTA 6 gives you tools for that. Rockstar North's Rob Nelson described them to Japanese magazine Famitsu.

What it changes in the game
Suppressive fire is new to the series: "you can deliberately miss and fire your shots near to them instead, which may confuse or startle the opponent and allow you time to make your escape." Press preview [1][2]
Disabling a police truck by shooting its tyres is one of the examples given, instead of shooting the officers inside. Press preview [1]
Nelson: "We wanted to give players the choice not to kill police or civilians while trying to get away," and "there are quite a few moments where you can make progress without killing anyone." Press preview [1][2]
Still unknown: Whether a full playthrough with no kills is possible.
